Well, it's finally here- my 1st blog! I remember some time ago, I set up an account with a well known site & never used it! It's always one of those 'get round to it' jobs that never comes round! I eventually decided to take the leap! Why now, you may ask! Well it's as good a time as any! I always store lots of info in my head- the latest research on something, ideas for this that & the other- I'm always sharing health related information with my clients but I see that blogging could be a way to share things with a wider audience.
As a nurse, I've always been people orientated- people 1st & I guess I'm a bit of a technophobe as Edward our IT whizz will testify! I remember being a ward nurse & the NHS were introducing computerised care plans- how dare a computer try to take me away from patient care? I hit those keys so hard in defiance when typing in!
Well, I have moved on from those days & IT is very much a part of my life- I'm mastering Twitter, post on Linked in, am on various mailbases, have now produced a newsletter & find my IPhone a useful tool when I'm out and about on sites especially & am slowly finding new aps! The days of banging the keyboard have gone! Since specialising in Occupational health, I now teach people about healthy use of a computer and ergonomics!
Next question- what will I blog about? Probably my interests! Health will be the main focus- health at work, alternative therapies, nutrition, communication, aromatherapy, exercise, research & so on. I will either really get in to this & find it easy or it will end up being another 'round to it' job! I remember some time ago, a 'round tuit' plate was invented, which I thought was quite witty! I think these are still on sale now a days- probably in those seaside holiday shops!
So what is it you're going to get round to?....
Christmas is approaching & many people undertake to get round to doing something after the holidays- decorate the house, tidy the garage, start a healthy eating programme, look for a new job. What's stopping you? For me, it was time! There's a great saying though that time is not an excuse! So what's really stopping you?.....
Well, I've taken the leap. Whatever it is that you're getting round to, when will you do it? What will happen if you do get round to it? What will happen if you don't?!
I hope that my blogs will be informative & interesting. I do have lots of ideas & I plan to get 'round tuit' at least monthly!
Yours in health
