Behavioural Style Assessments

Using psychology based models from the USA effectively deployed by companies such as Johnson and Johnson, IBM and Coca Cola, Work-Life Health assists organisations in understanding their most important assets, their people. Our systems act as a way to quickly assess the adaptability needed to understand and communicate with people at a deeper level. This in turn leads to effective relationships, increased morale, increased productivity and ultimately can enhance business profit.

Additional results of effective communication strategies can also lead to employee retention, corporate social responsibility and competitive advantage, crucial in todays markets. In addition, good communication is a key requirement of the Investors in People Standards and will contribute to meeting legislative requirements under theManagement of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Health and Safety Executive’s Management Standards for work related stress. The standards define the characteristics, or culture, of an organisation where the risks from work-related stress are being effectively managed and controlled. The standards identify primary sources of stress at work that, if not properly managed, are associated with poor health and well-being, lower productivity and increased sickness absence. These are:

  • Demands [1]
     — this includes issues such as workload, work patterns and the work environment.
  • Control [2] — how much say the person has in the way they do their work.
  • Support [3] — this includes the encouragement, sponsorship and resources provided by the organisation, line management and colleagues.
  • Relationships [4] — this includes promoting positive working to avoid conflict and dealing with unacceptable behaviour.
  • Role [5] — whether people understand their role within the organisation and whether the organisation ensures that they do not have conflicting roles.
  • Change [6] — how organisational change (large or small) is managed and communicated in the organisation.
The format of the assessment is that individuals undertake a behavioural style assessment and employees are then provided with a personal profile and information how to benefit from the knowledge/findings personally and professionally, delivered at a training session.
